Boughton support The Big Allotment Challenge

Simon Hedley, Managing Director of Boughton welcomed Harshani (far left), and the “glamorous gardening partners” Michelle (left) and Sally (far right), contestants of The Big Allotment Challenge 2014 to our exhibition stand at The Edible Garden Show.

Simon discussed with the ladies the finer points of using Boughton’s excellent topsoil mixes to produce superior growing and tasting vegetables. The Big Allotment Challenge is a horticultural series currently airing Tuesdays on BBC2, hosted by Fern Britton.

Each episode sees teams of two gardeners go through four challenges comprising of growing, testing and eating vegetables and fruit. These categories are judged by award-winning horticulturalist Jim Buttress, floral designer Jonathan Moseley and preserves expert Thane Prince. Being fellow supporters of the Grow Your Own revolution, we wish the girls the best of luck in what has been dubbed the new British Bake-off.
