Silica sand has been quarried in and around Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, for over 100 years by generations of the Garside family. Garside Sands operates today as a significant part of Aggregate Industries.
The rarity and limited geographical deposits of this type of silica sand result in it being in demand across the UK and all over the world for specialist applications ranging from sports pitches, water filtration, brick manufacture and specialist industrial applications.
